Senior Project Engineer - High VoltageJob PurposeThis role supports the Head of Section in managing engineering activities related to the design, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategy, commitments, and goals. The position focuses on providing technical guidance, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analysis of the engineering department portfolio using innovative and analytical techniques. The role holder is responsible for promoting, adhering to, and ensuring compliance with QAFCO’s Occupational Health & panne, Environment, Energy, and Quality systems and standards.Key AccountabilitiesAwareness of QAFCO and Major Projects' specific HSE requirements and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures of QAFCO Integrated Management Systems, Major Projects and the relevant authorities.Awareness of QAFCO and major projects' specific quality requirements and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.Ensure full implementation and adherence to the HSE Regulations and proper follow‑up of the HSE procedures and instructions in all areas of work.Actively contribute to safety walks, report accidents and investigate accidents, if any.Be fully aware of the Project Information Manual (PIM) and its procedures that cover the management system of the project and ensure strict compliance.Managing ActivitiesElectrical Engineering ScopeOversee the design, yolu, specify, and implement high‑voltage electrical systems including:SubstationsSwitchgearTransformersEmergency power systemsReview and validate single‑line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, and protection coordination studies.Ensure compliance with IEC standards, QAFCO specifications, and EPCC contract requirements.Technical Specification & Documentation ReviewReview technical specifications submitted by EPCC contractor during tendering and subcontract award phases to ensure alignment with approved project‑specific requirements.Evaluate and comment on technical documentation including datasheets, drawings, calculations, and vendor documents.Review and approve engineering specifications and procedures, ensuring compliance with the EPCC contract and project procedures.Multidisciplinary Engineering Development ActivitiesHAZOPHAZIDSIL assessmentsQRA sml3‑D model reviewsConstructability and operability reviewsEnsure closure of action items from these sessions and integration into design.ProfileIdeally, you will have a bachelor alleging degree (or a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in major projects). You will have a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in industry electrical software and systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
