OverviewStudy and develop conceptual designs, prepare detailed engineering solutions, plan, monitor and coordinate all assigned modifications (projects) with project team for a wide range of tasks related to discipline scope. Act as a key focal point for in-house/subcontracted engineering. Review of engineering studies conducted in line with defined requirements, industry best practices and contractual agreements.ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementCoordinate discipline review and approval of design and interfaces with Contractor on Company requirements and specifications.Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with supervisor.Review and advise on layouts, site preparation, rotating-pipeline systems, etc. during technical evaluation stage of bidders proposals to assess technical capability and ensure compliance with project specifications.Ensure projects mechanical rotating engineering design and engineering activities are executed according to specification, within budget, with the contract scope of work and meets time schedules.Coordinate and provide engineering support for construction activities, including the assurance that engineering details required for construction are provided.Review and approve modifications (projects) as-built documents.Design and EngineeringManage Pre-FEED, FEED studies, and detailed design of HVAC systems for onshore/offshore marine, oil & gas greenfield/brownfield facilities, as per design basis, project specifications and standards.Create engineering deliverables such as HVAC calculations, P&IDs, D&IDs, HVAC equipment specifications, Data Sheets, Operation Sequence Philosophy, SDRLs, MRs, etc.Review building services documentation throughout the design process and contribute to content and direction. Estimate costs for heating and cooling systems with detailed budget estimates.Prepare/compile material take-off based on drawings, datasheets, basic design, standards, etc. for retrofit HVAC jobs (package units, central split units air cooled/water cooled chillers, FCUs, AHUs).Perform equipment selection based on design/requirements, quantity take-off, bill of quantities and documentation.Conduct heat load, head loss, and external static pressure calculations per ASHRAE; design ducts using Equal Friction or Static Regain methods per SMACNA; design pipes and perform pump head/head loss calculations.Examine specifications, plans and materials of HVAC installations and verify compliance with SAES, SAEP, ASHRAE, SMACNA. Coordinate with Process, Maintenance, Inspection, Production, Safety and Environment to ensure designs meet objectives.Prepare detailed specifications, data sheets and tender documents. Prepare equipment purchase requisitions per codes and company specs. Conduct technical evaluations of quotations and assist the buyer. Review drawings, documents, and inspection & test procedures from suppliers. Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering documents with facility and inter-connecting details. Prepare studies, design sketches and drawings based on modification requests, design calculations, field measurements, codes and standards.Provide technical support for construction during construction phase for modifications; follow up commissioning and start-up activities. Perform calculations as required and assist in inspection during testing and evaluate test results of equipment. Manage administrative tasks and report deviations to the project management team. Execute project close-out activities and capture lessons learned.Health, Safety, Security, Environment and QualityEnsure compliance with relevant health, safety, security, environmental and quality management procedures.Collaborate with HSSE on related tasks.Update documentation related to modifications (projects) and participate in risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP).ReportsProvide regular progress reports related to assigned modifications (projects) and prepare specific reports upon request.Internal and External CommunicationsInternal: Project team, requester (project owner), inventory, procurement, and other relevant parties.External: Contractors, vendors/suppliers, consultants and service providers.Qualifications, Experience & SkillsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.ExperienceDiscipline Engineer: Mechanical engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience covering HVAC system design; 8 years of experience in design/engineering in Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industries. Good knowledge of discipline design/engineering with experience in different discipline areas.Discipline Senior Engineer: 12 years of experience in design/engineering in Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industries.
