Job Description Role Overview:
As a Cost Accountant IV at Varex Imaging, you will specialize in the accounting of product costs recognized in cost of sales and inventory. Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager at the US based Corporate Office, you will contribute from the Pune, India office working directly with two young manufacturing plants and collaborate with a team of Cost Accountants to support global business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze the cost of materials, labor, overheads, and other direct or indirect costs associated with products or services.
- Coordinate maintenance of standard cost data, and accounts for manufacturing variances, scrap, rework cost, excess & obsolescence, and product returns through direct engagement of our production teams and produce internal metrics to enhance understanding and establish action items to aid in the control of these costs.
- Interact with departments and procedures within the cost accounting function to study and assist in recommending and implementing process improvements.
- Provide cost accounting support to global subsidiaries.
- Work with warranty, capitalized variances, material recovery, non-conformance, intercompany, wall to wall physical, and other related inventory matters.
- Assist with resolution of Intercompany and 3rd party (GRIR/RNV).
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, company policies, and industry regulations. Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting.
- Prepare month-end and year-end closing entries and reconciliations.
- Contribute to Internal Reporting through the creation and distribution of monthly reports.
- Perform special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting.
- CMA or CPA preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and all Microsoft products, experience with SAP preferred.
- Innate systems thinker that collaborates across the organization to facilitate business process innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to both identify issues and the self-motivation to research, identify a resolution, and implement a resolution.
- Preferred candidate will have 7+ years of experience in related accounting roles. Role Overview:
