OverviewJob DescriptionThe specialist is part of a multi-disciplinary team of caregivers serving patients, to provide an effective patient journey and patient experience, using clinical evidence-based practice. The roles and responsibilities of a specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:CareAssess, evaluate, diagnose determination, ongoing treatment, and clinical management, referral for consultation, care planning, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and planning for discharge as appropriate (in consultation or with the assistance of the consultant, if required) for all patientsDirect contact with patient family members, friends, and others to ensure effective communication of care plansCoordinate communication and planning with other surgical, medical, or primary care physiciansWork within the scope of credentials and Dubai Health-approved privileges of the licensed roleEnsure disponibility to attend or answer on-call services as applicableResponsibilitiesParticipate in teaching activities, including supervising or precepting students, interns, and residents in patient-care settings.Provide lectures and non-clinical teaching to students, interns, and residents.Serve as an adviser and mentor to students, interns, and residents.DiscoveryConduct scholarly activity as assigned (e.g., publications, journal articles, quality improvement projects, clinical research).Supervise and support staff and trainees in research as assigned.Participate in and attend academic conferences and scientific and clinical meetings to remain abreast of ongoing advances in the medical field, as neededServiceComplete all clinical and professional records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner to ensure compliance with local and federal regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements.Serve on Dubai Health committees or attend external meetings, as requested.Work to create a positive work culture within cross-departmental teams.Work within the rules and regulations of Dubai Health and any regulating authorities.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
