Job Description

ResponsibilitiesManagerial/AdministrationSupports and adheres to all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.Supports and participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes.Assists Consultant staff in ensuring adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times.Attends Divisional meetings as invited.Supports the reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents.Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Consultant Staff.TechnicalDiagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty under the supervision of the Consultant Physician.Assists the Consultant Physician in supervising junior medical staff and jointly assumes responsibility for the care they provide.Complies with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow‑up practices.Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources.Leads ward rounds; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice.Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required.Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required.Actively participates in multi‑disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe, and holistic care for individual patients.Ensures patients are prepared for all procedures including obtaining informed consent.Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk‑in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals.Participates in and supports the Consultant Physician in ensuring the provision of out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.Communicates clinical information to patients and their families and friends (with the patient’s consent) in a timely manner.Maintains a good working relationship with members of staff and promotes collaboration and a team‑based approach to patient care.Performs other clinical responsibilities as assigned.Helps support quality improvement initiatives within the Division.Encourages a culture of regular audit and the use of audit results to improve clinical practice.Promotes and participates in clinical research and publication.Assists in the instruction, guidance, and supervision of junior medical staff.Keeps abreast of current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.Participates in clinical research and publication.QualificationsTier 1: No additional experience required post board certification.Tier 2: NLT 2 years of clinical experience post qualification in an internationally accredited institute.UAE nationals: No additional experience required post board certification.For UAE Nationals & Non-UAE Nationals enrolled in HAAD accredited residency programs: No experience required post board certification.Tier 3: NLT 3 years clinical experience as Specialist post qualification in an internationally accredited institute.#J-18808-Ljbffr
