Job Description
Responsible to perform all sonography imagery procedures, analyse the output and reporting to supervisor as needed. The role holder will be responsible to work directly with patients and using sonographic equipment to record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses as well as looking at unborn fetuses in prenatal care.ResponsibilitiesMaintains the sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for the performance of dutiesFacilitates anatomy and pathology in cross-sectional imaging to optimize scan protocols, and liaises with radiologists to arrange further imaging or testsMaintains safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department. Reporting any incidents and equipment faults or deterioration to senior staff in a timely manner.Operates advanced software on specialist radiological equipment e.g. Image reconstructions, quantifications and dynamic imagingMaintains a clean and tidy working environment, including restocking of supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaningAccountabilitiesEnsures clear images for diagnostic purposes and makes adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessaryMonitors and develops as necessary quality improvement indicators to ensure continuous quality improvement & compliance with patient care standards.Performs medical procedures are all done with accuracy, administers oxygen, takes vital signs, and gives emergency treatments as per requirementQualificationsExperienceRequired: NLT 2 years post‑graduate experience in primary degree in an acute care hospital.Desired: N.A.Educational QualificationBachelor’s degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound or Sonography (minimum three (3) years course duration)Associate Degree in Sonography (minimum two (2) years course duration)Registration/certification or accreditation as radiographer/SonographerBachelor’s degree or Diploma from an accredited institution in Radiography /RadiologySSMC COMPLIANCE GUIDELINESComplying consistently with facility policies, procedures, and practices and ensuring alignment with SSMC facilities policiesCompleting and maintaining regulatory requirements including licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time framesMaintaining confidentiality with regards to any information exchanged or received in the current capacity of role in accordance with facility policyPromoting customer‑focused philosophy in dealing with stakeholdersMaintaining positive and effective working relationships within the department/division and also with other departments/sections within the facilityPerforming any other duties as may be assigned relevant to the basic responsibilities of the roleAdhering to Occupational Health and Safety, Materials Management, and Maintenance standards, including infection control guidelines and emergency preparedness plans/policiesRecognizing the necessity of continuously developing skills and acquiring additional knowledge appropriate to the positionDressing appropriately to meet the expectations of the specific work area and in alignment with Occupational Health and Safety policiesBuilding key partnerships within the organization for pursuing client‑centered, comprehensive, integrated systems of careComplying with any regulations related to mentoring, training and development of UAE nationals staffTechnology or Medical ImagingPost‑primary Certificate or Diploma degree (minimum twelve (12) months course duration) in Diagnostic UltrasoundCurrent National LicenseDesiredMaster's in Medical Imaging or relevant clinical MSc in a related field (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience)About UsAt SSMC, we firmly believe that the human touch is a fundamental part of care.
