Solaris / RHEL Systems Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Solaris / RHEL Systems Administrator to manage enterprise-grade Unix/Linux infrastructure in a 24x7 production environment. The role involves installation, configuration, patch management, automation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across mixed environments.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Solaris 11 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), along with experience in virtualization, engineered systems, and automation platforms.Key Responsibilities1. Operating System AdministrationInstall, configure, and maintain Solaris 11 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.Perform firmware, OS, and kernel upgrades.Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning.Implement OS hardening and security standards.Manage Logical Domains (LDOMs), Solaris Zones, and VMware environments.Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and resource allocation.Administer enterprise engineered systems including Super Cluster and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) platforms.3. Patching & SecurityApply OS patches, service packs, and kernel updates.Implement security policies, compliance standards, and security agent configurations.Perform vulnerability remediation and compliance reporting.Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, network, storage, and OS-level issues.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive actions.Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.5. Automation & ScriptingDevelop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, KSH, Python, or Perl.Utilize Ansible Automation Platform for configuration management and deployment.Automate routine administrative tasks, server provisioning, and patch deployment.6. Backup & Disaster RecoveryManage storage and backup operations, including ZFS snapshots.Execute backup and recovery procedures.Participate inDisaster Recovery (DR) drills and resilience testing.Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of Solaris 11 and RHEL administration.Strong scripting skills (Bash, KSH, Python, or Perl).Experience with Solaris Zones and LDOM virtualization technologies.Familiarity with VMware environments.Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, and network troubleshooting.Experience with SAN/NAS storage systems and ZFS file systems.Hands-on experience with Oracle SPARC, Exadata, and Dell EMC mid-range servers.Exposure to Oracle Engineered Systems such as Super Cluster and ExaCC.Experience working in mission-critical, high-availability enterprise environments.Professional Experience5–10+ years of hands-on Unix/Linux system administration experience.Experience in 24x7 production support environments.Strong documentation and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsCertifications in RHEL, Solaris, VMware, or Kubernetes.Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and ITSM platforms.Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices.#J-18808-Ljbffr
