SPIE Global Services Energy relies on an extensive local network to quickly deploy resources and meet its customers' needs in the safest possible conditions.Drawing on the expertise of its 5,000 employees, SPIE Global Services Energy helps players in the oil, gas and renewable energies industries improve the technical performance of their infrastructure, increase their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint.With 55,000 employees and a strong local presence, SPIE group achieved in 2024 consolidated revenue of €9.9 billion and consolidated EBITA of €712 million.Reference 2026‑42283Position description Job titleSite Lifting Specialist (SLS) M/FContract typeFixed-term-contractContractual hoursFull timeContract duration1 yearJob descriptionWe currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a Site Lifting Specialist (SLS).Job Purpose:Assess, analyse, plan and adjust lifting operations on site in line with NOC standards.Advise Contractor’s objectives and expectations for HSE, accountability and performance of Lifting Activity.Maintain systematic and methodological approach to Lifting Operations and assist Company CPLO by establishing a reliable system of documentation, processes and personnel competency assurance.Ensure flawless operation of Lifting and continuous improvement during offshore installation campaign.Your main duties will be to:Act as technical advisor for handling and lifting service for the topsides hook-up and installation Campaign.Promote safe handling and lifting operation referring NOC HSE policy and international standard.Supervise as Client Lifting Representative the handling and lifting operations.Ensure promotion/implementation of Company Lifting & Handling procedures and safety culture on site.Participate in the definitions of the Company Lifting & Handling procedures and participate in the internal audits on behalf of CPLO.Inspect the Main Installation vessel and completion prior mobilization to site and ensure compliance of lifting equipment, rigging and general lifting organization with Company Standards; attend offshore vessel crane audits/inspection as required.Verify at fabrication yard that topsides riggings are properly installed and in good condition.Provide expertise in daily handling & lifting activities, including categorisation of lifts.Conduct risk assessment and hazard identification.Assist Company CPLO in technical review of lifting operations.Select equipment for lifting operations.Attend lifting toolbox talks.Conduct post-job debriefs and assessment of completed jobs.Review generic and complex lift plans; attend the lifts as necessary.Perform condition check and fitness‑for‑purpose on lifting appliances, CCUs, and evaluate their utilisation on site.ProfileIdeally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three‑year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on‑field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.Minimum 10 years in the lifting & handling industry at supervisory level.Offshore jacket / topside installation experience preferred.Technical Engineer and/or industry‑related qualifications such as OPITO, LEEA, EAL, CPA, etc.Broad and extensive knowledge in handling & lifting appliance & operations.Experience working to International standards such as BS, LOLER, etc.Experienced in Oil & Gas Industry.Worked in onshore & offshore operations.Have working profile such as: Rigger, Rigger Foreman, Rigging Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, Lifting Superintendent.Risk assessment in relation to health, safety & environment.Supervision of critical and heavy lifts.Planning of critical and non‑critical lifts.Experience in training and coaching preferred.H2 S, OPITO and T‑BOSIET trainings.You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication.You will have good interpersonal and organisational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.Working at SPIE What can we offer you?We offer long‑term contract with attractive daily rate, insurance coverage, transportation & expat standard accommodation.Position locationDoha, QatarCandidate criteria – Minimum level of experience required6 years or moreRequired authorisationsFTW, Offshore requirementsLanguagesEnglish (C‑Professional working proficiency)Our ambition – Combining our differencesSPIE Global Services Energy is committed to promote diversity.
