<div><h3>Job Description Summary</h3><p>The OSS specialist will have technical knowledge and experience working with GE/Alstom and oOEM turbines. He/she is responsible for the onsite machining of major rotating equipment addition He/she will set up and operate a variety of manual and numerically controlled machine tools.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><ul><li><b>What youll do</b></li><li>Execute assignments according to GE Environmental Health&Safety and Quality requirements&ensure rules are understood by the crew prior to the start of work.</li><li>Provide technical and Environmental Health&Safety direction to those performing the work on Customer sites.</li><li>Lead and supervise repair jobs at Customer sites and act as the representative of OSS in front of the customer (internal and external) to ensure safe quality and timely completion of work.</li><li>Perform insitu machining operations including milling, boring, flange facing, drilling, grinding and turning on gas and steam turbine components.</li><li>Operate portable boring bars and machining equipment for precise machining of turbine casings, bearing housings and diaphragms.</li><li>Conduct gas turbine casing alignment to ensure proper fit and assembly of turbine components.</li><li>Perform steam turbine diaphragm alignment to restore concentricity and minimize efficiency losses.</li><li>Carry out shaft and journal repairs including grinding, polishing and metal spraying to restore wornout surfaces.</li><li>Use laser or dial indicator alignment techniques to achieve precise positioning of machined components.<br/>Complete all prejob planning and post job reporting required fulfilling the needs of the customer as assigned including machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies.</li><li>Special duties can include but not be limited to: projects as assigned by management, development of innovative service offerings, delivery of training and drive safety quality and customer‑centric culture.</li><li>Must be willing to travel globally on short notice and for extended periods of time during outage seasons; and be willing to work weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day‑to‑day basis.</li></ul><h3>What youll bring (Basic Qualifications)</h3><ul><li>Extensive experience on power generation equipment GE/Alstom and oOEM Turbines machining and repair.</li><li>Ability to work according to a time schedule and meet deadlines accordingly.</li><li>Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.</li><li>Willing to train other persons according to the requirements OntheJob.</li><li>Demonstrate ability to plan, organize and work in a team of Onsite Service Crew.</li><li>Work effectively with minimal direction and supervision.</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel for work globally on short notice and for extended periods of time including weekends and holidays.
