Job Description Role Overview: The CMDB Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the full lifecycle, accuracy, and integrity of IT asset and configuration data within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), primarily on the ServiceNow platform. This role plays a critical part in enabling reliable IT operations, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making by ensuring alignment with ITIL standards. As a CMDB Asset Management Specialist, you will provide hands-on technical expertise to support CMDB, Foundation Data, and CSDM initiatives, working closely with architects, developers, platform owners, and service teams to deliver configuration data across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Configuration Items (CIs) and IT assets within the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. You will collaborate with ServiceNow developers, solution architects, and integration teams to ensure seamless data flow between CMDB, discovery tools, and external systems. Additionally, you will monitor, analyze, and report on CMDB health metrics and lead remediation efforts where gaps are identified. Your support for ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations will be crucial to ensure accurate and automated population of CI and asset data. Key Responsibilities: - Strong hands-on expertise with ServiceNow CMDB, including CI classes, relationships, reconciliation, and normalization. - Experience supporting IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management processes aligned with ITIL standards. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data quality and process improvement. - Working knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery and system integrations (APIs, data imports, third-party tools). - Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience working with ServiceNow, CMDB, IT Asset Management, or related ITSM functions. Qualifications Required: - ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and other ServiceNow certifications preferred. - ITIL v3 or v4 certification with advanced knowledge of ITIL best practices and the application of concepts a plus. - Familiarity with cloud platforms, hybrid infrastructure, and modern IT operations models.
