Title and SummarySenior Vice President, Government Engagement, EEMEALocation: Region (flexible)OverviewMastercard is dedicated to promoting inclusive growth and financial inclusion. The Regional Government Engagement unit builds durable, trusted relationships with key government agencies to accelerate their transition to a cashless ecosystem through digitalization, while increasing revenues and seeding new markets for Mastercard. It drives relevance and revenues in the government space by developing effective regional go‑to‑market programs supported by clear priorities, success metrics, and incentives. It provides expert sales support to country managers and local sales resources through a solid client engagement playbook approach.The role aligns Mastercard’s product, service and ecosystem capabilities to solve challenges faced by government clients in financial inclusion, citizen service efficiency, inclusive economic growth and government operational excellence.It sits at the heart of scaling the business across all regions to drive revenue, market relevance, and social impact, focusing on a select number of priority markets, segments and clients directly agreed with senior leadership.It accounts for development of the regional government vision, strategy, and execution program including a list of prioritized markets, clients and solution opportunities.Identifies and pursues opportunities in digitizing big government flows, transformational infrastructure partnerships, major transit and tourism initiatives.Accelerates Mastercard’s revenue performance in the region through a structured sales excellence approach.Manages a growing team of senior government specialists across target markets.Represents the Government Engagement business opportunity within the region’s senior management team and negotiates revenue and relevance objectives with other members.Aligns global, regional and local resources to drive execution, in close coordination with the region’s president, divisional presidents, product and service units and strategic growth management team.Engages key government opportunities at the top civil servant and political executive level, assisting country managers to win strategic deals.Builds and manages a regional community of practice to cross‑fertilize best practices at regional and global levels.RoleDevelop deep understanding of regional, national and local priorities.Engage region and division leadership to prioritize clients and solution opportunities, negotiating and securing local support of resources.Secure global and regional resources to execute on the plan and drive marquee wins; build a region‑wide Government Engagement steering committee.Lead a team of segment experts, coaching and talent planning.Accelerate solutions deployment by providing regional trainings and expert sales support for marquee engagements.Liaison with peers across global regions to represent EEMEA and draw on expertise and market development support.Initiate and drive marquee commercial deals.Represent the region within Strategic Growth’s management team, driving strategic alignment with global units.Build and curate the regional community of practice; mobilize the team to act as first line of support for regional and divisional presidents.QualificationsExperience working for or closely with government agencies, managing process improvement and transformative change initiatives, and engaging senior government leaders.Proven track record in leading and closing large, complex government deals in the region.Consultative selling focus, deep product, services, and solutions expertise, and a hands‑on approach.Skillful in engaging senior Mastercard stakeholders, communication, and transparency of purpose; capable of leading complex regional initiatives requiring collaboration across functional, geographical and cultural lines.Ability to work across divisional boundaries, acting as peer to other senior leaders.Self‑motivated, thrives in fast‑paced environment; readiness to take on stretch goals.Strong gravitas, exceptional relationship management, influencing and communication skills.Undergraduate degree required; MBA or graduate degree preferred.Open to travel across the region and globally.English fluency required; at least one other regional language a strong plus.Corporate Security ResponsibilityAbide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.Ensure confidentiality and integrity of information accessed.Report any suspected information security violation or breach.Complete all periodic mandatory security training in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
