Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Technician – Digital Delivery to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You’ll play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality digital solutions and technical outputs for our infrastructure and digital projects. As a Senior Technician you’ll combine technical expertise with collaborative leadership, ensuring seamless digital delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career in a forward-thinking organization that values innovation, precision, and professional growth.Produce and manage 2D drawings and 3D digital models for infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and authority standards.Develop and maintain comprehensive digital deliverables using industry‑standard software tools, including Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and specialized modeling platforms.Apply Level of Development (LOD) requirements at different project stages and ensure all outputs align with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project standards.Perform rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on all digital deliverables prior to internal reviews and authority submissions.Collaborate with engineers, BIM leads, and cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues, coordinate designs, and optimize digital workflows.Conduct clash detection and coordination analysis using industry tools such as Navisworks, identifying and documenting conflicts for resolution.Manage and update digital models and drawings based on design revisions, stakeholder feedback, and authority comments.Support the extraction of quantities, schedules, and technical data from BIM models for project planning and reporting.Maintain organized file structures, version control protocols, and documentation within Common Data Environments (CDE) platforms.Mentor junior technicians and support team members in adopting best practices for digital delivery and technical excellence.Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and GCC authority standards and requirements throughout all project phases.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process efficiencies and recommending innovative solutions for digital delivery.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Digital Technology, Information Technology, or a related discipline.Minimum 5‑10 years of hands‑on experience in infrastructure projects, digital delivery, or BIM‑related roles within the GCC region.Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD for creating technical drawings and 3D models.Demonstrated experience with wet utilities (drainage, stormwater, sewerage, irrigation, water networks) and dry utilities (electrical, telecom, ICT, street lighting).Strong understanding of BIM processes, LOD requirements, and model‑based delivery methodologies.Proven expertise in QA/QC procedures for digital and CAD deliverables.Working knowledge of Abu Dhabi authorities such as TAQA, TPD, DMT, and other GCC regulatory entities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Strong organizational and time‑management skills with meticulous attention to detail.Proficiency in version control, file management, and digital asset organization.Preferred / Added Value SkillsHands‑on experience with Navisworks for clash detection, coordination, and 3D visualization.Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), ProjectWise, or similar collaborative tools.Experience in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects involving complex utility coordination.Knowledge of ISO‑based workflows and digital delivery standards.Exposure to project management tools and methodologies.Experience mentoring or training junior technical staff.Understanding of digital asset management and lifecycle documentation.Familiarity with emerging technologies in digital delivery and infrastructure modeling.Additional InformationAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
