SENIOR RECREATION THERAPIST

<div><h3>Summary</h3><p>Plans, implements and evaluates a therapeutic recreational programmed to meet the needs of hospitalized Pediatric patients. Consults with other health team members regarding emotional and developmental needs of hospitalized pediatric patients.</p><h3>Essential Responsibilities and Duties</h3><ol><li>Assesses paediatric patients in terms of their developmental, physical and emotional needs to provide appropriate activities for all developmental levels including opportunities for social interaction.</li><li>Assess paediatric inpatients in term of their education status and inform the parents of the in-house education programme. Enrols patients in the programme as applicable.</li><li>Selects and maintains equipment, toys and educational material for the recreation programme. Coordinates activities and programmes for the playroom including the performance of outside groups providing entertainment.</li><li>Make daily rounds in the patient’s wards, encourages paediatric patients to participate in recreational activities and provide One on One recreational activities to bedridden patients and patients on isolation statues if medically permissible.</li><li>Works with other health team members regarding assessment and observation of patients and families.</li><li>Assesses needs for parental teaching in providing appropriate activities for the child. Provides guidance as necessary.</li><li>Assists with, and participate in, training of Recreation Therapists and provides input to Supervisor, Social Work, regarding their performance. Supervises volunteers and students involved in the Recreation Therapy Programme.</li><li>Responsible for playroom statistics and reports.</li><li>Plans and organises the celebration of all national holidays and relevant international events. Participate in health awareness campaigns.</li><li>Ensure availability of toys and recreational activity items at all times.</li><li>Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.</li><li>Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.</li></ol><h3>Education</h3><p>Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-School Education, Special Education, Child Psychology, Social work or other related discipline is required.</p><h3>Experience Required</h3><p>One (1) year of related experience with Master’s, or three (3) years with Bachelor’s is required.</p><h3>Other Requirements (Certificates)</h3><p>Saudi Nationals only.</p></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
