JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsible for independently or under the supervision of senior radiographers performing all MRI procedures, analyzing output and reporting to supervisor as needed.RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains a sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for the performance of dutiesOversees and reports shortage of materials to supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering and approving replenishments when necessaryDirects and monitors all procedures carried out by junior staff under supervision and stepping in whenever there is a requirementPerforms all MR imagery procedures in accordance with department policies and applies detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology in order to produce images of high diagnostic qualityAssists MR Radiographers with technically difficult and advanced proceduresEvaluates sequences for acceptable quality, correct parameters, appropriateness and completenessPerforms other related radiography (special) procedures as requiredEvaluates and assesses MR images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness, advising other staff when requiredConducts all preparations, cannulations, administrations of IV contrast agents under the supervision of supervisor or physicianManages to recognize anatomy and pathology in cross sectional imaging to optimize scan protocols, and liaise with radiologists to arrange further imaging or testsMaintains safe and competent use of all radiology equipment and reports any incidents and equipment faults or deterioration to senior staff in a timely manner.Operates advanced software on specialist MRI equipmentAccountabilitiesEnsure proper MRI examination procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocolsManages to undertake Radiographic and Imaging examinations as requiredMaintains and is responsible for the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the departmentQUALIFICATIONSExperience :-Required:Two (2) years of experience post qualification in the MRI fieldDesired:N.A.Educational QualificationRequired:Bachelor’s degree or Diploma (minimum three (3) years course duration) in MRIBachelor degree in a Radiography /Radiology Technology or Medical Imaging program AndPost graduate Diploma in MRI (Minimum of twelve (12) months course duration)/ Registration as MRI Technologist with ARRT, UK HCPC, AIR or other equivalent bodiesAND Current National LicenseDesired:N.A.ABOUT USAt SSMC, we firmly believe that the human touch is a fundamental part of care.
