Job Description

SummaryOrganizes and assists with all the activities for the assigned section. Ensures that the highest possible professional and clinical standards are met according to departmental procedures and policies.Essential Responsibilities and DutiesLiaises with Physicians, MedicalPhysicists, Supervisors, Head Nurse, and Radiation Therapists to schedule patients.Maintains all necessary supplies and materials. Ensures that equipment is functioning properly and safety standards are maintained at all times.Ensures optimum utilization of equipment and maximum use of resources.Maintains effective and efficient communication between staff group within and outside of the Department.Assists with departmental and Hospital Performance Improvement (PI) Plan.Evaluates quality assurance and quality control data and maintains the required records.Enhances professional growth and development through continuing education.Assists with training and orientation of new employees.Demonstrates higher level to treat or image own specialist workload of patients and maintain relevant documents/e-charting.Rotates between areas as experienced practitioner.Participates in departmental projects or teaching sessions.Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.Performs other related duties as assigned.EducationMaster’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy or other related disciplines is required.Experience RequiredGrade 09: Two (2) years of related experience as a Radiation Therapist with Master’s, or four (4) years with Bachelor’s is required. Grade 10: Four (4) years of experience as a Senior Radiation Therapist at KFSH&RC, or (grade 09) related experience is required. Average annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4). Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).Other Requirements (Certificates)Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.License and registration as a Radiation Therapist is required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
