Job Description Role Overview: Vanderlande is the global market leader in future-proof logistic process automation, serving major airports and parcel operators. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Case & Tote Equipment Development department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating mechanical modules for integrated equipment solutions. Your role will involve addressing complex technical challenges, guiding junior engineers, and ensuring designs meet performance and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: - Translate complex customer requirements into clear functional and technical specifications. - Lead the selection of mechanical components for optimal performance and reliability. - Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and engineering specifications. - Manage product development activities to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless integration of components. - Lead prototyping, testing, and validation phases to meet design requirements. - Analyze test results, recommend design refinements, and optimize for production efficiency. - Drive innovation through new materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices. - Mentor and support peers and junior engineers, fostering a collaborative culture. - Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. - Maintain comprehensive documentation for designs and verification activities. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through best practices and process optimization. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10-12+ years of relevant experience. - Demonstrated leadership in mechanical design and development. - Experience with conveying systems is advantageous. - Proficient in FMEA, FEA, CE compliance, and machinery development standards. - Advanced-level user of CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies like SCRUM or SAFe.
