Senior Production Engineer

Job OverviewThe Senior Production Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the production discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the production discipline. The Senior Production Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline‑specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Production Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the production team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.ResponsibilitiesSupervise discipline production engineer including identification of production engineer resource needs for the project and communication of these regularly to the Division ProductionUnderstand the full contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedule managing the progress and reporting on the projectReview constructability and ensure the work execution plan is based on the most productive optionResponsible for fabrication 4WLA including the prioritization of materials and drawings to suit and chairing the production 4WLA and forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet the project contract scheduleResponsible for initiating and approving all revisions orders and change orders ensuring incorporation into the global lessons learned databaseSolve technical problems and initiate site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimizedChair the weekly project production meeting, managing the project’s weekly fabrication progress and productivity and ensure is within budgetManage any scope of work changes and ensure AFC estimate is up to date and that revision and change orders are initiatedAppraise fabrication management of any project issues that affect the forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitmentsDevelop a work pack index and set priorities and deliverable dates for the discipline teamsDirect the discipline groups with all material ordering priorities and schedule dates to suit the fabrication sequenceDirect material expediting reports and advise procurement personnel of any concerns and mitigation plans as necessaryAuthorize technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the clientDevelop a project fabrication execution plan that satisfies the contract requirements most productivelyInterface with other key project personnel such as project cost engineer, marine operations engineer, quality managerLead project constructability program effort for fabricationLead the Discipline Production Engineering team, Drafting Squad Leaders, Material Controllers, etc. to meet project fabrication requirementsManage inter/intra–functional interfaces at the discipline level for the fabrication portion of the project with minimal guidanceResponsible for optimal utilization and development of the discipline team assigned on the projectEstablish a productive working relationship with Project Superintendents & Supervisions to ensure meeting the Fabrication TargetsEnsure necessary documentation and compliance with procedural requirements throughout the project phasesInterface for discipline-level requirements with key project personnel from various functions like Engineering, SCM, Quality, Cost control, Marine Operations, hook‑up up etc. to meet priorities and schedule dates for project fabrication requirementsAttend expediting meetings to communicate material delivery priorities, review and communicate Marine deliverables requirements to meet fabrication plan/ sequenceManage discipline level project fabrication progress within schedule and productivity within targeted budget in coordination with project Operations EngineerSupport project Operation Engineer to manage inter/intra–functional interfaces and project reporting requirements like AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, conducting constructability reviews, etc.Lead project constructability reviews on a discipline level including resolution of construction problems with intra/ inter function interfacesUnderstand the overall project scope of work to lead and guide the discipline production engineering team to meet project fabrication deliverables in line with the fabrication sequence/ scheduleSupport the Fabrication Bid coordination efforts on assigned Bid projects supporting the Fab Bid CoordinatorQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering5+ years offshore and Petrochemical IndustryExpertise in production engineering and optimization techniquesStrong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilitiesProven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large‑scale projectsExcellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challengesProficiency in relevant so
