In this role, you will leverage your expertise to tackle complex planning assignments, including conflicting requirements and challenging coordination efforts. You will play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support impactful planning initiatives.What You’ll Be DoingPerform planning assignments requiring conventional expertise, often involving complexities such as conflicting requirements or challenging coordination efforts.Gather, compile, and analyze data related to economic, social, and physical factors.Develop recommendations based on governmental measures affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation.Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate public involvement meetings and consensus-building workshops.Provide oversight and technical guidance to technicians and junior planners.Skills and CompetenciesComprehensive knowledge of urban and environmental planning practices and procedures.Proficiency in using PC software and tools commonly applied in planning assignments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong understanding of local statutes, environmental regulations, and rules.Education and ExperienceRequired: Bachelor's degree in Urban/Environmental Planning or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.Licenses and CertificationsCertification from the Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred, or other related certifications.Key RelationshipsSupervision Received: Manager, Project Manager, Senior Planners.Supervision Given: Technicians and junior planners (technical guidance only).Internal Contacts: All project employees.External Contacts: Local government officials and the general public.Why Join Parsons?At Parsons, we foster innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
