Job Description

Qualified graduate engineer in Mechanical/ Building Services Engineering.Masters Degree/Chartered Engineering status is a plus.Minimum 15years of experience on site and in engineering consultancy firms.Experience in Middle East projects will behighly preferred.Business DevelopmentBegin to make contacts with clients/other team members and build relationships which may prosper in the future.ProjectRoleMonitoring materials incorporated within the Works for compliance with requirements.Inspect the works on site to see that they are being built generally in accordance with the Contract drawings and specifications and also with good engineering practice.Verify that the soil conditions encountered during construction can be reconciled with the ground conditions found at the time of the soil investigation works.Witnessing and monitoring of any relevant tests or trial assemblies undertaken by the main contractor or others.Witnessing tests of equipment and systems incorporated within the works.Inspection of samples and test areas produced by the main contractor or others.Providing advice and responding to requests for information from the main contractor and others.Commenting on/assisting with the Contractors Record Vouchers, Daywork Sheets, Confirmation of Instructions etc.Providing advice to the Contract Administrator on payments and approvals to the ContractorProviding advice to the Contract Administrator on the need for special investigations or tests.Liaising with the Contract Administrator, site staff from other Consultants, and Building Control.Defining areas of defective workmanship or materials.Monitoring working practices on site for compliance with agreed procedures and safe methods of working. Checking for safe storage of materials on completed areas i.e. overloading etc., and for adequate protection of equipment etc., prior to completion of the works.Report any suspected contamination either in the soil of in any existing construction to the Contract Administrator. Review proposals for safe method of treatment and disposal.Maintenance of comprehensive record system including site diary, weekly reports, instructions etc.Reporting at site meetings on matters relating to wb designed or specified elements of the site works.Liaising with the Public or Third Parties as required.Prepare snagging lists of defects in conjunction with the contractor and agree dates for completion.CompanyRoleHave an understanding of the Business Plan, mission statement and key challenges.Attend team meetings and play an active role in the development of procedures within the project team.Apply policies relating to health & Safety, quality and training.Be aware of the design philosophy and engineering principals for the project. Receive a comprehensive briefing from the project engineer before starting on site.Have an understanding of the buildability aspects and construction techniques applicable for the project.Carry out a cross reference check of all documents including specifications and drawings and bar bending schedules (if applicable).Keep a continuing review of the temporary and permanent stability of the building as it is constructed.Assist the design team with the co ordination of the engineering particularly when it applies to site matters.QHSE ResponsibilitiesUnderstand, implement andfollow 9E QHSE policies.Implement and coordinate QHSEprocedures in your workplace.Comply with local regulatoryauthority guidelines and laws pertaining to QHSE.Report any QHSE incidentsimmediately to 9E QHSE Dept. and to legal authorities if required.Abide Client/Contractor QHSErequirements and acquire site induction before mobilizing at sites.#J-18808-Ljbffr
