Job Description As an Engineer III/Senior Engineer at Generac, you will play a crucial role in product development projects by collaborating with a cross-functional team. Your responsibilities will include interfacing with various departments such as engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing. Key Responsibilities: - Create and release engineering Change Notices (CNs) to release parts and bills of material - Utilize Windchill or equivalent PLM system - Perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy on multiple projects - Design experience with various materials like plastics, aluminum castings, and sheet metal - Conduct analysis using FEA, CFD, etc. to improve products, services, and processes - Proficiency in 3D modeling (ProE or SolidWorks) - Experience with machine design and SAP or equivalent ERP - Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety - Collaborate with internal partners to optimize designs for manufacturability - Utilize CAD or CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings - Mentor and teach less experienced engineers - Travel to other Generac facilities as required - Participate in cross-functional project teams and lead some aspects of the project - Understand the Engineering financial impact and other business functions Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline - 5+ years of relevant work experience - Previous experience in new product design and development - Ability to analyze and address risks effectively - Strong technical skills in MS Excel, MS Word - In-depth knowledge and experience in engineering principles - Thorough understanding of material specifications and use Join Generac, a leading energy technology company, and be a part of our journey towards powering a smarter world.
