Job Description
The Deputy Head of Marketing will lead and execute a world‑class marketing strategy for a flagship energy exhibition and conference, enhancing its position as the world’s leading energy event. This role is responsible for driving audience acquisition, brand engagement and commercial success through data‑driven, innovative and multi‑channel marketing initiatives.Key objectives include:Developing and implementing a long‑term marketing vision that strengthens the events position in the global energy sectorDelivering integrated campaigns to attract visitors, delegates, exhibitors and sponsorsLeading data‑driven marketing strategies with detailed analytical insightsManaging, motivating and developing a high‑performing marketing teamThis role works closely with sales, sponsorship, conference production and other internal departments to maximise the events reach and revenue potential.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Brand strategy and event positioningOversee the execution of the events brand strategy to maintain its leadership in the global energy industryEnsure consistent and impactful branding across all marketing channels and touchpointsStrengthen the events reputation through high‑impact marketing initiatives and campaign activationsAudience acquisition and engagementLead the development and execution of data‑driven marketing campaigns to attract key target groups, including visitors, delegates and exhibitorsUtilise digital marketing, automation and analytics to optimise customer journeys and improve conversion ratesMonitor campaign effectiveness, adjusting strategy based on performance insightsCommercial and partnership marketingWork closely with commercial teams to develop marketing initiatives that support revenue growthOversee the development, negotiation and fulfilment of partnership agreements with media partners, industry associations and stakeholdersFoster relationships with key industry bodies, government entities and regulators to enhance event credibilityDigital transformation and data strategyLead the events digital marketing strategy, incorporating search engine marketing, paid social, CRM and marketing automationOversee website management, content development and UX optimisation to enhance customer engagementEnsure robust database management and audience segmentation to improve targeting and campaign performanceMarketing performance and competitor analysisEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting frameworks to measure marketing effectivenessConduct market research and audience insights studies to inform strategic decisionsMonitor competitive activity and identify opportunities for differentiationQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:Technical / FunctionalMinimum 2 years of experience in marketing management roles (experience within events, B2B exhibitions or media desirable)In‑depth knowledge of marketing best practices, audience acquisition and digital marketing strategiesStrong understanding of data‑driven marketing, CRM, marketing automation and performance analyticsExperience managing large‑scale, multi‑channel marketing campaignsProven success in developing strategic partnerships and managing high‑profile stakeholdersPersonal Attributes / InterpersonalExceptional written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting and presentation abilitiesStrong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and develop a high‑performing teamHighly organised, with excellent time management and project management abilitiesStrong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable marketing strategiesSelf‑motivated, creative and results‑oriented, with a proactive approach to problem‑solvingAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environmentdmg events is an equal opportunity employer.
