Senior Level Designer – Rhythm Platformer

Please refer to Functional Sourcing in your applicationWe are seeking a Senior Level Designer to craft precision-based, high-difficulty gameplay experiences inspired by projects like Geometry Dash. This role focuses on designing tightly structured, execution-driven levels that emphasize timing, mechanical clarity, and player skill progression.You will work closely with gameplay programmers, visual designers, and QA testers to create short-form, high-intensity platforming challenges that are readable, fair, and mechanically demanding.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and prototype Hard-to-Expert difficulty levelsCreate structured gameplay segments (Ship, Wave, gravity mechanics, etc.)Balance visual clarity with mechanical challengeConduct iteration cycles based on playtesting dataEnsure levels meet fairness and readability standardsDocument design intent, timing windows, and difficulty curvesRequired Qualifications5+ years of level design experience in platformer or rhythm-based gamesStrong understanding of timing, pacing, and player psychologyExperience designing high-difficulty precision gameplayAbility to create clean, readable layouts without unnecessary distractionsFamiliarity with level editors and gameplay scripting toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with rhythm-based or reaction-driven gamesKnowledge of difficulty scaling methodologiesUnderstanding of player retention in skill-based gamesWhat We OfferCreative ownership over high-impact gameplay experiencesCollaborative and feedback-driven development environmentCompetitive salary based on experienceFlexible remote work structure#J-18808-Ljbffr
