This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-risk environments and is passionate about upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.We OfferWorking hours: 60 hours per week: 10h/day x 6 days/weekA supportive and safety-conscious work environmentThe opportunity to contribute to impactful projectsOpportunities for professional development and career growthKey ResponsibilitiesReview client-provided safety documentation and ensure compliance with local laws and regulationsDevelop and maintain the Health and Safety Plan in collaboration with the HSES teamPrepare and update emergency and evacuation plans based on actual site conditionsCoordinate the procurement and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all site personnel and visitorsOrganize safety orientation and training sessions tailored to site-specific risks and proceduresImplement personnel and vehicle identification systems to ensure controlled site accessConduct regular safety coordination meetings with relevant stakeholdersPlan and execute emergency drills in line with site configuration and emergency plansPerform job site safety inspections, document findings, and recommend corrective actionsSuspend activities when safety conditions are inadequateLead Toolbox Talks to address safety issues and corrective measuresReport and address unsafe behaviours or conditions on siteManage Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout systems during commissioningOrganize additional safety training as neededOversee incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementationWe are looking forResidency: UAE resident, living and working locallyEducation: degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Technical Diploma, or similar scientific disciplineExperience: minimum 5 years in a safety role within metalworking contexts (preferably steelworks or oil & gas), ideally 10–12 years in EH&S, with at least 5–7 years as EH&S ManagerCertifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, RSPP, ASPP, or other qualification equivalent to level 6 of the EH&S qualification frameworkSkills:Strong interpersonal and team collaboration abilitiesEffective communication across all organizational levelsProblem‑solving and analytical skillsCapable of transforming the safety cultureSite Activities: willingness to continuously supervise the activities of workers directly in the work area, carrying out office activities at the end of shiftAdditional Expertise: root cause analysis, emergency response, accident investigation reporting, safety procedures, audits, minutes of meeting, firefighting, lifting, chemical handling, permit‑to‑work systems, confined space entry, gas testing, advanced risk assessmentLanguage: fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic and Italian are a plusPreferred: previous experience in Gulf regionMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
