Senior Geotechnical Engineer (MF)

Description of the RoleProvide Geotechnical engineering services as per UAE authorities requirements including but not limited to:Be familiar with soil test work permit requirement boreholes numbers& depth for different kind of buildings/ infrastructure method statements and scope of workReview geotechnical investigation reports including shallow foundation and deep pile recommendations/calculations liquefaction analysis seismic design parameter as per Abu Dhabi codeReview geophysical investigation reports using different methods (MASW-ERT-CHS-DHS)Review dewatering method statements and calculation/drawingsReview soil improvement report method statement and calculation as well as various types of soil improvements technics (surface dynamic compaction drainage methods vibration methods precompression and consolidation grouting and injection chemical stabilization soil reinforcement geo textiles and geo membranes stone columns) and quality control test results review all soil test results prior any site foundation workReview special foundations for buildings and structures (Micro piles piling raftetc)Review Shoring technics (diaphragm wall secant piles spaces piles with shotcrete Berlin wall nailed/anchored wall)Create and analyse 2D and 3D models using computer applications notably Soil/Structure interaction PLAXIS 2D& 3DReview retaining structures (Concrete retaining walls gabions walls mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wallsAttend technical meetings as required by the project and the clientsDuties and ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the delivery of the highest quality of work to SOCOTEC clientsDeliver services within the timeframes dictated by the client and SOCOTECEnsure that work is carried out as per the relevant instructionsConsistently exceed clients expectationsComply with SOCOTECs group policies and proceduresAchieve and maintain the highest qualification levels determined by SOCOTEC for the relevant consultancy disciplinesTake an active and full role in the quality assurance of services delivered by SOCOTEC through document review supervision audit and assessment of other staff members providing support and leadership to the engineering teamStand out as a good example to all staffUndertake such other responsibilities that might reasonably be required by the companyEnsure the highest standards of administrationHealth and Safety ResponsibilitiesComply with Socotec International and client quality safety and environmental systems and procedures at all timesEnsure that all accidents incidents near misses or hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completedWork within the team to develop a culture where everyone embraces upholds and accepts responsibility for a safe workplace a healthy working life a sustainable environment and the right and duty to interveneQualificationsBachelor in Geotechnical EngineeringExperience with codes and local regulations BS-ASTM-AASHTO codes for geotechnical worksGreat interpersonal skillsExceptional oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work in a team or individually as and when requiredAbility to manage and handle multiple tasksOutstanding problem-solving skillsExceptional attention to detailStrong decision-making skillsAdditional InformationThis position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of our company while developing your commercial skills in a dynamic international environment.
