Job Description About the Brand Namrata Joshipura is a contemporary fashion label recognised for its bold use of colour, intricate craftsmanship, global sensibility, and refined silhouettes. The brand caters to a design-conscious, fashion-forward clientele and has a strong presence across premium boutiques and flagship retail platforms. Role Overview The Senior Designer will play a key role in conceptualising and developing collections that align with the brands design language while balancing creativity with commercial viability. Working closely with the Founder / Creative Director, this role requires strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and the ability to translate creative ideas into market-ready collections. Key Responsibilities Design Concept & Development Support the Founder in developing seasonal concepts, mood boards, colour stories, and design directions Collection Development Design and develop garments across categories, ensuring consistency with the brands aesthetic Fabric, Embellishment & Surface Design Source and develop fabrics, embellishments, embroidery techniques, and surface treatments aligned with design vision Technical Design & Sampling Prepare detailed tech packs, oversee sampling, fittings, and ensure design intent is maintained through production Trend Research Conduct ongoing research on global fashion trends, colour forecasts, silhouettes, and market movements Vendor & Artisan Coordination Work closely with vendors, karigars, and production teams to ensure quality, timelines, and feasibility Commercial Alignment Collaborate with merchandising and retail teams to ensure designs are commercially viable and aligned with customer demand Quality & Fit Standards Maintain high standards of fit, finish, and craftsmanship across all collections Team Guidance Mentor junior designers and design assistants as required Key Skills & Attributes Strong design sensibility aligned with premium contemporary fashion Expertise in womenswear construction, embellishment, and fabric development Ability to translate creative concepts into production-ready designs Strong understanding of fit, finish, and quality standards Excellent coordination and communication skills Commercial awareness and understanding of retail realities Proficiency in design software and technical documentation
