Job DescriptionJob PurposeThe principal role of the Structure Engineer is to regularly carry out physical audits on company drilling offshore/onshore sites and advise on the status of the technical integrity of assets structures on company drilling sites. This ensures safe and consistent application of company and regulatory codes and standards, and that good engineering practices are followed.The Structure Engineer is accountable for safeguarding the integrity of asset structures while ensuring best practice and risk‑based decision‑making. The role may also be part of a composite team charged with considering overall business risk, including financial, commercial, reputation, and technical risk.Responsibilities include keeping abreast of developments in Integrity Management, directing and, when necessary, conducting specific studies and evaluations for marine items of company drilling assets, reviewing detailed specifications for contractual activities, endorsing contractors, and providing technical evaluation for contract awarding.Key Accountabilities – Part 1Carries out regular audits of company drilling assets independently or as part of a team to determine the status of the integrity of assets structures.Identifies and reports all integrity risks through failure or anomalous behaviour of asset structures.Plays a role in reviewing proposed solutions to prevent business interruptions due to integrity breakdown by proactively identifying structural defects.Advises business managers on all cases where asset structure integrity is compromised, including requesting a cessation of activity when lapses are serious.Participates in investigations of incidents related to structures, identifies root causes, and assists in providing long‑term solutions to prevent recurrence.Provides support to all areas of the business with technical advice on asset structures.Key Accountabilities – Part 2Facilitates liaison between the Integrity Manager and the technical authorities in the business units for all discussions on asset structures.Provides functional guidance and expert advice in the application of corrective actions where integrity risks are identified.Keeps abreast of developments in Codes of Practice, Standards, and Procedures related to the designated area of expertise and endorses the appropriate use within company drilling.Ensures company drilling processes and procedures relating to the area of expertise are current, compliant with best practices, and regulatory requirements.Ensures regular audits confirm inspection and maintenance crews implement appropriate inspection and testing programmes.Acts as the advisory link with project and operations teams for major projects.Provides expert advice and support in the event of an integrity breakdown.Acts as the approval authority for continued operation of equipment when one or more integrity deficiencies are identified, specifying additional controls if required.Reviews Management of Change requests for integrity of critical systems and equipment, specifying additional requirements if necessary.Keeps abreast of related developments and best practice and attends conferences, seminars, society meetings, and trade shows to identify new developments of interest to the company.Proactively contributes to group company initiatives and forums on matters related to the area of expertise.Identifies company‑wide issues affecting Integrity Management performance in the area of responsibility and coordinates stakeholders to resolve such issues and implement solutions.Ensures best practices are shared within the company, group companies, and international drilling contractors.Directs and participates with other company drilling teams in vetting detailed specifications and scope of work for contracted activities related to the area of expertise.Complies with all UAE, company, company drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.Generic Accountabilities – SupervisionPlan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable proficiency on the job and deliver section objectives.BudgetsProvide input for the preparation of department budgets and assist in implementing the approved budget and work plans to deliver section objectives.Investigate and highlight significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.Policies, Systems, Processes & ProceduresImplement approved section policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support execution of the section's work programmes in line with company and international standards.Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.Performance ManagementContribute to the achievement of approved performance objectives for the section in line with the company performance framework.Innovation and Continuous ImprovementDesign and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and e
