SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER (INTERIOR AND JOINERY)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: what are the overall accountabilities for this positionDesign Development: Prepare, review, and modify shop drawings, calculations, and material submissions for ID / Architectural works (or Civil / MEP depending on discipline). Ensure design deliverables comply with project requirements, local codes, and authority regulations. Coordinate with client / consultants to obtain timely design approvals.Performance Management: Implement performance management systems to effectively track progress and ensure alignment with targets and objectives. Identify and address performance issues promptly, taking corrective actions when needed.Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers, coordinators, and draftsmen. Review shop drawings, technical submissions, and material submittals for compliance. Support construction team by resolving design-related queries.Coordination & Compliance: Coordinate with external consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure timely submission and approval of drawings and documents. Participate in value engineering and design optimization for cost-effectiveness.Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to understand project requirements. Coordinate design efforts for timely delivery.Quality & Documentation: Ensure accuracy and quality control of design documents. Maintain records of drawings, revisions, and correspondence. Support preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation.Primary Deliverables: Ensure precise and on-time submission of documents, reports, and data.
