This role requires a qualified engineer with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems combined with strong commercial acumen to manage costs, contracts, and procurement activities from inception to completion.What your day‑to‑day will look likeUpdate and maintain the Employers electronic cost management system in real-timeNegotiate and agree ROM/variation values with contractors (subject to Employer approval)Coordinate, assist and lead the change management process for all variations and instructions; Review and assist/respond to contractor RFIs, variations and change requestsProvide early warning advice / ROM on potential cost overruns or opportunities and prepare substantiation for proposed variation orders for Employer approvalChair commercial budget and cost meetingsMonitor compliance with contractual obligations and Key Performance IndicatorsMaintain register of variation orders with approval status and costsMaintain and monitor registers of insurances, bonds, guarantees and payments with status and relevant detailsMonitor and report on cost performance against the Project BudgetMaintain comprehensive records of all commercial correspondence and documentationMonitor and update the Risk and Opportunity Register with cost implicationsDesired or preferred experience and technical skillsCostX measurement software or similar; advanced proficiency in digital takeoff and measurementAdvanced Microsoft Excel and project management softwareFamiliarity with BIM software and MEP modeling toolsExperience with cost databases and benchmarking toolsRequired Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or related fieldMinimum 8–10 years experience in contract and cost management within the Middle East construction marketMinimum 3 years in a senior QS role managing complex MEP projectsStrong knowledge of regional construction contracts (FIDIC, EPC, design and build)LocationOn‑site, Dubai, AREIf this job description resonates with you we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all of the requirements.
