Job Description

1. Job PurposeTo execute and oversee advanced composite manufacturing activities for UAV components, ensuring high-quality production, adherence to engineering specifications, and compliance with aerospace standards. The role includes hands‑on fabrication, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting process improvements.2. Key Responsibilities2.1 Composite Manufacturing ExecutionPerform advanced composite fabrication processes:Hand lay‑up.Vacuum bagging.Resin infusion.Prepreg lay‑up and curing (oven/autoclave).Manufacture UAV components such as:Fuselage sections.Wings and control surfaces.Fairings and structural panels.Interpret technical drawings, lay‑up schedules, and work instructions.Ensure correct ply orientation, fiber direction, and stacking sequence.2.2 Tooling & Materials HandlingPrepare molds, tools, and release systems.Ensure proper storage and handling of composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, cores, resins).Monitor material shelf life and environmental conditions (temperature/humidity).Assist in tooling maintenance and minor repairs.2.3 Quality Control & InspectionConduct in‑process inspections to ensure product conformity.Identify defects such as delamination, voids, wrinkles, or resin‑rich areas.Perform trimming, drilling, bonding, and finishing activities.Support:FAI (First Article Inspection).NDT (Ultrasonic / Tap Testing / Visual Inspection).Record production data and inspection result.2.4 Process ComplianceFollow SOPs, work instructions, and quality procedures.Ensure compliance with:ISO 9001, AS9100.Maintain proper documentation and traceability.2.5 Mentoring & Team SupportGuide and train junior technicians and laminators.Share best practices and ensure adherence to quality standards.Support Team Leader in achieving production targets.2.6 Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)Ensure safe handling of chemicals, resins, and curing agents.Use PPE and follow safety procedures.Maintain clean and organized workstation (5S principles).Report hazards and incidents.3. QualificationsDiploma or Technical Certification in:Mechanical / Aerospace / Composite Technology.Composite‑specific certifications are an advantage.4. Experience5–8 years of hands‑on experience in composite manufacturingExperience in UAV, aerospace, marine, or motorsport industries preferredStrong experience in prepreg and/or infusion processes5. Technical SkillsStrong expertise in composite fabrication techniquesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and lay‑up manualsFamiliarity with curing systems (oven/autoclave)Knowledge of trimming, bonding, and finishing processesBasic understanding of:NDT methodsQuality inspection tools#J-18808-Ljbffr
