Job Description

Main Role: We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to lead and coordinate building construction projects from planning through execution and handover. The role carries full responsibility for technical oversight, schedule control, cost awareness, and cross-functional coordination with project management, planning, procurement, contracts, and cost control teams to ensure successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities1. Project Leadership and GovernanceLead and control all civil engineering and construction activities in line with project objectives, contracts, specifications, and company standardsAct as the main technical and coordination focal point between site teams, project management, consultants, and stakeholdersSupport project strategy, execution planning, and decision-making across all construction stages2. Planning, Scheduling, and Progress ControlCoordinate closely with Planning Engineers and Project Managers to develop, monitor, and update project schedulesReview construction sequences, recovery plans, and look-ahead programsMonitor progress against baseline schedules and support corrective actions to meet milestones3. Cost Control, Contracts, and Commercial AwarenessWork closely with Cost Control, Contracts, and Commercial teams to monitor budgets, variations, and claimsSupport preparation and evaluation of change orders, subcontractor variations, and cost forecastsEnsure construction activities align with contractual requirements and approved budgets4. Procurement and Subcontractor CoordinationCoordinate with Procurement teams to support material and subcontractor selection, approvals, and delivery schedulesReview material submittals and ensure timely procurement aligned with construction prioritiesManage subcontractors’ performance to ensure quality, schedule, and cost compliance5. Technical Review and Quality ManagementReview and approve drawings, method statements, and technical submittalsEnsure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standardsLead technical problem-solving and support value engineering initiatives6. Health, Safety, and Risk ManagementEnsure implementation of HSE requirements across all site activitiesIdentify construction and project-related risks and support mitigation measuresPromote a strong safety culture across project teams7. Reporting, Stakeholder Management, and Team LeadershipPrepare and review project progress, cost, and performance reportsSupport senior management with project status updates and risk assessmentsLead, mentor, and coordinate multidisciplinary project teamsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineeringMinimum 10+ years of experience in building construction projects, preferably in a project leadership roleTechnical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities RequiredStrong background in building construction and project executionProven experience coordinating planning, procurement, contracts, and cost control functionsStrong understanding of project controls, budgeting, and construction contractsAbility to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and commercial documentsProficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project control tools (Primavera knowledge is an advantage)Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skillsStrong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities#J-18808-Ljbffr
