Senior Biomedical Engineer-Biomedical EngineeringAbu Dhabi, United Arab EmiratesTrendingJob DescriptionResponsible for supporting the Manager in ensuring that biomedical design specifications and performance requirements are carried out in accordance with SSMC and local authority safety and management standards, policies and procedures, statutory and contractual requirements.ResponsibilitiesConducts research by publishing research findings or investigating literaturePerforms biomedical investigations in support of medical risk management as related to potential hazards and incidents involving medical equipment and accessories to medical devicesInterprets technical data and specifications to assist in the procurement of new equipment purchases, and provides guidance as it relates to the maintenance of medical and scientific instrumentation based on biomedical application, manufacturer guidelines, national code, the standard of care, and customer requirementsProvides feedback to assist in the planning of new facility modifications as they relate to medical equipment and accessories used in new or modified biomedical care areasProvides guidelines on the most suitable equipment, in relation to the existing environment and facility requirementsOversees and supports all engineering drawings of medical equipment and ensures accuracy of details such as electrical circuits, control programs, civil and mechanical aspects and all related componentsEnsures the specifications of each item of equipment and availability of spare parts (both on and off site) in case of breakdownEnsures market availability of spare parts or replacements for equipment that are no longer under warrantyAssists in the preparation of SSMC’s annual physical asset management and maintenance planMonitors the external environment for best practices in the management and maintenance of biomedical equipmentPrepares technical requirements and conducts technical evaluation to acquire and select new medical technologyAssists and conducts necessary site tests, and records, analyses and interprets test data, proposing modifications and retesting equipment as necessaryEnsures implementation of regulatory standards, policies and procedures applicable to all technical areas of serviceCoordinates with the relevant vendor to arrange any necessary training for concernedAccountabilitiesManages and is responsible for smooth office operationsEnsures proper filing and keeps records of all important messages, meetingsQualificationsExperience :-Required:NLT 7 years of postgraduate experience in Biomedical Engineering; four of them should have been at a senior supervisory or management level or equivalent.NLT 2 yearsDesired:N.A.Educational Qualification: Required:BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent Qualification requiring NLT 3 years training course.Desired:Relevant post graduate degree :MSc or PhDAbout UsAt SSMC, we firmly believe that the human touch is a fundamental part of care.
