Senior Applied AI and Automation Engineer

Job Description As a Sr Associate IS Engineer at Amgen, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic engineering team focused on Applied AI & Automation within the AI & Data Science (AI&D) organization. Your role will involve working on cutting-edge capabilities and services using innovative technologies to support critical business operations and initiatives, ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across Amgens Applied AI & Automation Footprint. **Roles & Responsibilities:** - Own the operational health, reliability, and performance of Intelligent Automation platforms like UiPath and Power Automate. - Define and maintain service reliability practices including availability targets, SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and observability. - Lead major incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective actions. - Manage platform upgrades, patches, and hotfixes. - Govern releases and environment promotions via CI/CD. - Ensure disaster recovery readiness, backup strategies, and resilience testing. - Manage platform licensing, utilization, and cost efficiency. - Ensure GxP compliance, validation readiness, and audit support for automation platforms. - Define and maintain platform documentation. - Lead onboarding, enablement, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. - Act as a senior technical point of contact for platform consumers and stakeholders. - Translate business and product demand into operational priorities. - Influence platform standards and best practices. - Mentor junior engineers and provide technical reviews. - Follow Agile and ITIL practices for operational work. - Track and report operational KPIs. **Basic Qualifications and Experience:** - Any degree and 4 to 8 years of experience with software development technologies. **Functional Skills:** *Must-Have Skills:* - Proven experience operating and leading Intelligent Automation platforms. - Hands-on experience with GxP systems, validation, and audit readiness. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release governance, and environment management. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. *Good-to-Have Skills:* - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS. - Proficiency in scripting or programming languages. - Exposure to agentic AI or AI-assisted automation technologies. **Soft Skills:** - Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to influence decisions and drive outcomes effectively. - Demonstrated collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
