Job Description As a Senior Apparel Designer at Dh-May by Craft Boat, you will be leading the creative direction of the collections while collaborating closely with artisan teams and the in-house production unit. Your role involves understanding garments from concept to construction, with a strong sensitivity to textiles and craft processes. Here's what you can expect in this role: - **Design & Collection Development:** - Lead concept development for Dh-May collections including silhouettes, textiles, colors, and details. - Design seasonless garments aligned with the brands aesthetic and philosophy. - Develop mood boards, research references, and material explorations. - Create original prints and textile directions in collaboration with artisans. - Ensure strong continuity and a recognizable brand language across collections. - **Garment Development & Sampling:** - Oversee pattern development, fittings, and garment construction. - Develop detailed tech packs and specifications for production. - Ensure quality, proportion, and finishing meet premium standards. - **Textile & Craft Integration:** - Collaborate with block printers, dyers, embroiderers, and weavers. - Translate traditional techniques into contemporary applications. - Innovate with materials while respecting craft integrity. - **Team Leadership:** - Mentor and guide junior designers and sampling coordinators. - Build structured workflows for design development and approvals. - Support skill development within artisan and production teams. - **Production Alignment:** - Work with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and scalable. - Monitor sampling timelines and production readiness. - Maintain consistency across batches. We are seeking a candidate with 610+ years of experience in apparel design, preferably in premium/contemporary/slow fashion, who possesses a strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and experience working with natural fabrics and handcrafted textiles. Leadership experience managing teams or projects, strong aesthetic sensibility, and attention to detail are essential qualities we value.
