Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting operations for our client at their office in Arjan, Dubai. This role oversees financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls to support accurate and efficient financial management across the business.Client DetailsOur client is a well-established organisation operating within the logistics and specialised transportation sector. They have a strong presence in the region and offer a dynamic environment where financial precision, regulatory compliance and operational excellence are essential to their continued success.DescriptionMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the company's accounting systemsPrepare and post accounting entries across assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense categoriesOversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactionsPrepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, petty cash and cash flow reportsManage accounts payable and receivable with timely invoice processing and collectionsReview ageing reports and monitor cash inflowsReconcile all bank accounts and credit card transactionsSupport monthly close and year‑end closing activitiesPrepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to support decision-makingMonitor cash flow and identify risks or improvement opportunitiesEnsure compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings and documentationPrepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit requirementsGenerate accurate financial and management reports on a regular basisIdentify discrepancies and implement corrective actions and process improvementsRecommend updates to accounting systems, policies and internal controlsDevelop and document accounting policies and processes to enhance governanceMaintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to regulatory standardsPerform ad-hoc financial reporting and accounting tasks as neededProfileBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or CommerceProfessional certification such as CPA or ACCAMinimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within logistics or freight forwardingStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and UAE tax regulationsProficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage 300, NetSuite or OracleStrong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritise, meet deadlines and perform under pressureHighly detail-oriented with the ability to work independentlyUAE experience is mandatory - candidates must be based in the UAEJob OfferOpportunity to join a stable and reputable organisation in a growing industryProfessional development and exposure to a fast-paced operational environmentA collaborative culture that values strong financial governance and continuous improvementSkillsAccounting transactionMonthly closingFinancial reportingWorking with auditorsBudgetingForecasting#J-18808-Ljbffr
