Department:Finance & AccountsJob SummaryThe Senior Accountant – Accounts Receivable (Real Estate) is responsible for managing and controlling all receivable-related activities arising from property leasing, sales, service charges, and tenant billing. The role ensures timely invoicing, collections, accurate revenue recognition, and compliance with accounting standards and lease agreements.Key ResponsibilitiesManageAccounts Receivable for real estate portfolios , including residential, commercial, and retail propertiesPrepare and issuelease invoices, rent demands, service charge bills, and utility recoveriesMonitortenant receivables, aging reports , and follow up on overdue rentals and chargesCoordinate withleasing, property management, legal, and customer service teamsfor dispute resolution and collectionsPerformtenant account reconciliations , including security deposits, advance rents, and adjustmentsEnsure accuraterevenue recognition as per lease agreements and IFRS (IFRS 16 where applicable)Processcredit notes, debit notes, penalties, and write-offswith proper approvalsManagepost-dated cheques (PDCs) , bank guarantees, and payment trackingPrepare monthlyAR reports, collection status, and cash flow forecastsSupportVAT compliance , including tax invoices and reconciliationsAssist inmonth-end and year-end closingand audit requirements related to receivablesMaintain stronginternal controlsover tenant billing and collectionsSupervise and guide junior AR accountants, if applicableRequirementsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree inAccounting, Finance, or CommerceProfessional certification (CPA / ACCA / CMA) –preferredMinimum5–7 yearsof accounting experience, with3+ years in real estate Accounts ReceivableStrong experience inleasing, rentals, and property management accountingKnowledge ofIFRS, VAT, and lease accountingExperience withreal estate /property management systems
