Safety Officer - Oil & Gas

Position: Safety Officer (HSE)Bachelor’s / Diploma degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety required – NEBOSH IGC, IOSH (Managing/Working Safety), OSHA, or equivalent.Job Descriptions & Key CompetenciesConduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations, monitoring compliance with electrical safety protocols, training workers on electrical hazards (shock, fire), ensuring appropriate PPE is used, managing work near power lines, and managing electrical permits.Assist in investigating accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.Prepare and document non‑compliances, conduct inspections, maintain safety records and other safety documentation to meet regulatory requirements, and create HSE plans.Support the development of safety training materials and facilitate training sessions for employees. Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.Help implement and enforce safety policies and procedures and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Work with management and other departments to address safety concerns and improve safety performance. Liaise with external bodies like law enforcement if necessary.Compliance with Position SpecificsKey CompetenciesImplementing lockout/tagout (LOTO), safe work permits, and understanding national/international electrical safety standards and guidelines.A minimum of 3 years of direct experience is often preferred. Ability to identify potential safety hazards. Oil and Gas experience will be an added advantage.Proper awareness of HSE standards, preparation of JSA, RA Study.Handling multiple clients and orders at once without hassle.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also generally expected.#J-18808-Ljbffr
