Rigger

The Rigger is responsible for safely lifting, moving, and securing heavy loads using cables, ropes, chains, and rigging equipment. They ensure loads are balanced, stable, and compliant with safety regulations while working closely with crane operators, construction teams, or stage crews.Key ResponsibilitiesLoad Preparation & InspectionCalculate load weights and center of gravity.Inspect rigging gear (slings, shackles, hoists) for wear/damage before use.Select appropriate rigging equipment based on load specifications.Rigging OperationsAttach loads to cranes, hoists, or other machinery using knots, bolts, and clamps.Direct crane operators via hand signals or radios to position loads accurately.Secure loads for transport (e.g., construction materials, stage equipment, ship cargo).Safety ComplianceFollow OSHA (or local) safety standards and company protocols.Ensure loads are balanced and properly secured to prevent accidents.Use PPE (hard hats, harnesses, gloves) at all times.Team CoordinationCollaborate with crane operators, signalers, and ground crews.Report hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.DocumentationMaintain logs of rigging equipment inspections.Complete pre- and post-operation checklists.Qualifications & SkillsEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of rigging experience (construction, maritime, or entertainment).Technical Skills:Proficiency with rigging tools (spreader bars, winches, pulleys).Knowledge of load dynamics and weight distribution.#J-18808-Ljbffr
