OverviewThe role is responsible for independently or under the supervision of senior therapists all respiratory therapy interventions, taking into consideration the patient’s best interest.ResponsibilitiesPerforms respiratory care procedures as per established policy and procedures, i.e. if required under the direction of senior staff and physiciansAssumes responsibility for operating autonomously, utilizing critical thinking and problem- solving skillsOversees and highlights the shortage of materials to Senior staff or supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering replenishments when necessaryParticipates in the development and modification of respiratory care management, plans and therapeutic goals for patients with cardiopulmonary diseases in consultation with physiciansAssists the physician and Code Team in cardiac / respiratory arrest situationsProvides advanced emergency airway care according to the approved protocolPerform and/or assists with pulmonary and sleep diagnostic procedures as requiredOversees and highlights the shortage of materials to Senior staff or supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering replenishments when necessaryProvides troubleshooting of Respiratory Care equipment and highlight any maintenance requirements or breakdowns to senior staffAssisting in the education, development, orientation of new employees, and preceptorship of students as assignedParticipating in education sessions for department staff, and other healthcare providers in secure handling of equipment, i.e. teaching, induction, peer review, case studies, and clinical presentationsAccountabilitiesAssists and takes responsibility for the Respiratory Therapy support of patients and monitors patient response regularlyEnsures patient receives the highest standard of carePracticing within the expressed limits of established policies and proceduresEnsures patient care activity data are documented in accordance with established guidelinesQualificationsExperience:Required:NLT 1 years as a respiratory therapistDesired:N.A.Educational Qualification: Required:Bachelor’s Degree in respiratory therapy or Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (minimum two (2) years course duration)Current National License as Respiratory TherapistDesired:N.A.#J-18808-Ljbffr
