Research Director

We are partnering with a well-established, mission-driven institution in the region that is focused on advancing research, innovation, and societal impact across women-focused sectors.The Director of Research & Innovation will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the organization’s research agenda, driving innovation-led initiatives, and supporting long-term institutional growth.This individual will work closely with senior leadership and governance bodies to position the organization as a regional and global thought leader, particularly across areas impacting women, inclusion, and community development.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & InnovationDefine and lead the research and innovation strategy, aligned with the organization’s long-term visionDrive innovation frameworks, programs, and partnerships to enhance impact across women-focused fieldsIdentify emerging trends, opportunities, and research priorities to position the organization at the forefront of its sectorInstitutional Growth & TransformationLead initiatives that support organizational transformation and capability buildingDevelop scalable programs that contribute to institutional growth and measurable societal impactChampion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvementGovernance & Board EngagementWork closely with senior leadership and board members to ensure strong governance, compliance, and strategic alignmentProvide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations at board levelEnsure all research and innovation activities adhere to best practice governance and regulatory standardsStakeholder Engagement & PartnershipsBuild and manage relationships with key stakeholders across academia, government, private sector, and non-profitsRepresent the organization at regional and international forums, conferences, and partnershipsFoster collaborations that enhance research output, funding opportunities, and global positioningCommunications & Thought LeadershipLead the development of high-impact communication strategies to promote research and innovation initiativesPosition the organization as a thought leader through publications, events, and public engagementSupport executive leadership with strategic messaging and external visibilityCandidate Profile5–10+ years of experience, with a track record in research, innovation, or strategy-driven rolesCurrently in a leadership position, with experience managing teams and driving cross-functional initiativesDemonstrated success in strategic leadership, institutional growth, and organizational transformationStrong experience in governance, compliance, and board-level engagementAdvanced academic qualifications (Master’s or PhD preferred) in a relevant fieldExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholdersProven ability in stakeholder management across diverse and complex environmentsAn innovation-driven mindset, with the ability to translate ideas into tangible outcomesPreferred BackgroundExperience in women-focused sectors, social impact, education, research institutions, or policy environmentsExposure to or involvement in sports-related initiatives, particularly in women’s sports, performance, or development programsNOTE: OPEN TO OVERSEAS CANDIDATES WHO ARE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO QATARDUE TO THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED, ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED#J-18808-Ljbffr
