Research Associates (Bioresin)

Job DescriptionThe Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University calls for an application for Research Associates to work in the field of bio-based materials. The candidate will be supported by a research grant for four months and will work under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Jawaid.ResponsibilitiesExtraction of lignin using natural deep eutectic solvents from biomass.Characterisation of extracted lignin from biomass.Modification of lignin to biobased resin.Testing extracted and modified lignin using advanced characterization techniques such as thermal, structural, morphological, NMR, UV spectroscopy, particle size analysis (PSA), and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis.Present and report research results at national and international conferences and publish scientific results in peer-reviewed Q1 journals.Minimum QualificationSkilled in material science.Research experience in extraction and synthesis of lignin and bioresin.Ability to fabricate and characterize composites and nanocomposites.Good technical writing skills and good publication records.Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role.Preferred QualificationMaterial science/polymer composites background or any related area.Demonstrable willingness to support work in the lab.Adaptable and flexible to continuous changes associated with research demands.Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace.Special Instructions to ApplicantSubmit a detailed CV.Close Date: Kindly apply before the closing date. 30/04/2026#J-18808-Ljbffr
