Expression of Interest: Regulatory Subject Matter Expert (Consultant)We are inviting Expressions of Interest from highly experienced Regulatory Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support an upcoming potential national initiative focused on strengthening compliance, regulatory alignment and governance across the nonprofit and community ecosystem.This is a consultancy-based, part-time opportunity. Please note that submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee shortlisting or a call-back, as progression is dependent on project award and final scope confirmation.About the RoleThe Regulatory SME will provide specialised legal and regulatory expertise across NPO, municipal, housing, construction and rental sectors. The consultant will play a key role in both design and delivery stages, advising on compliance requirements, interpreting regulatory changes and contributing to interventions that support NPOs in meeting their obligations.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide expert regulatory input into the development of classification frameworks, audit criteria and operational standards.Ensure all programme outputs reflect accurate and up-to-date legal and regulatory requirements.Review design deliverables to ensure regulatory alignment across standards, workflows and processes.Track regulatory updates across NPO, municipal, construction, rental and housing sectors, recommending updates as necessary.Work collaboratively with SMEs in Policy, Quality & Audit, Housing and Impact to ensure cohesive and compliant outputs.Provide expert advice during assessments, audits and programme reviews.Develop and deliver regulatory-focused content, tools and training materials as part of NPO capacity-building efforts.Support NPOs in understanding regulatory obligations and how these affect classification and performance requirements.Strong legal or regulatory expertise in NPO, municipal, housing, construction or rental sectors.Proven experience interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them within operational or audit contexts.Ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into practical, accessible guidance.Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.Detail-oriented with strong legal and regulatory analytical capabilities.Experience contributing to frameworks, compliance processes or regulatory-focused capacity-building programmes.Collaborative and comfortable working closely with technical SME teams.#J-18808-Ljbffr
