The Team You Will JoinYou will join the Business Control Planning team that oversees the governance, coordination, and optimization of key business processes and regulations to ensure operational effectiveness and strategic alignment and compliance with regulations. They monitor risks, controls, and compliance & regulatory requirements, providing insights that help leadership make informed decisions. The team also partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to streamline workflows, enhance financial planning accuracy, and drive continuous improvement. Ultimately, they serve as a critical link between strategic vision and disciplined execution across the organization.RequirementsThe Regulatory & Strategic Initiatives Champion is responsible for driving regulatory excellence and steering strategic transformation initiatives across the Gulf. This role ensures MetLife operates with strong governance, forward‑looking risk awareness, and full alignment with evolving regulatory expectations, enabling sustainable, compliant, and customer‑centric growth. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to anticipate regulatory implications.Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Oversight & AdvisoryLead in Monitor, interpret, and assess the insurance regulations and directives from regulatorsCollaborate with various internal stakeholders (Legal, Risk, Compliance etc.) and assist in conducting detailed gap assessments and advise on compliance status with the regulation, foresee potential impacts, develop remediation plan ensuring compliance with the regulation.Oversee and track regulatory projects in pipeline and providing timely updates.Identify and mitigate regulatory, operational, and strategic risks associated with new and ongoing business strategy initiatives.Assist in internal review of the regulatory data prior to the regulatory reporting for CRS, FATCA etc. and during audits with regulators and internal audits.Support in maintaining a robust governance framework and compliance across the organization with regulatory guidelines.Strategic Transformation InitiativesAssist on driving the strategic projects towards digitization & automation inclined towards transformation, business process review (BPR) resulting in efficiency and enhancing the user’s experience.Collaborating with SMEs from various department, drafting user stories and assisting in User Access Testing (UATs) for the development and tracking the end‑to‑end timely delivery of the ongoing projects.Identify operational bottlenecks, root causes of recurring issues, and opportunities for standardization or automation.Monitor post‑implementation performance to ensure process improvements deliver intended benefits.Stakeholder Management & CommunicationServe as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders on regulatory and strategic project matters.Prepare and deliver high‑quality executive reports, program updates, regulatory impact summaries, and presentations.Facilitate cross‑departmental collaboration to ensure alignment and clarity on regulatory and strategic objectives.Conduct training and knowledge‑sharing sessions to raise regulatory and strategic awareness across functions.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or related field; master’s degree preferred.5-7+ years’ experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, risk, or digital & automation projects within the insurance or financial services industry.Strong understanding of insurance regulatory frameworks, prudential standards, conduct rules.Excellent analytical skills and attention to details while handling regulatory matters to assess the complexity and develop solutions to ensure compliance.Proven ability to lead cross‑functional strategic initiatives and manage complex programs.Core CompetenciesStrategic thinking and regulatory foresightStrong digital & automation project and change management skillsGovernance and risk mindsetExecutive communication and presentation skillsHigh integrity, attention to detail, sound judgment and problem‑solving mind‑set in a complex, matrixed environment.About MetLifeRecognized on Fortune magazine's list of the "World's Most Admired Companies" and Fortune World’s 25 Best Workplaces™, MetLife, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, is one of the world’s leading financial services companies; providing insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management to individual and institutional customers.
