Job Description

We are seeking theQuality & Safety Leadto oversee the day-to-day operations of the Air Safety & Quality team within the organization, ensuring effective coordination with relevant partners and suppliers, and serving as the primary liaison with the end user.As such, the successful candidate will be required to deliver:Responsible for the delivery of safety, compliance and quality assurance oversightTo provide advice and support on all safety, compliance and quality assurance issuesEnsure that standards and statutory legislation are appliedActing as a positive role model for the corporate ethos of continuous improvementMeasure performance and results against Key Performance Indicators, thus ensuring that the organization delivers consistently high standards of safety and complianceProviding safety & quality support to the Quality, Safety & Airworthiness Manager and their appointed responsible individualsReporting to the Quality, Safety & Airworthiness Manager, this position will predominantly be based within the associated Military location(s) and will manage the general day to day safety & quality management of the assigned platforms and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesTo develop robust auditing systems and processes for ensuring compliance with standards and polices at local management levelsResponsible for personal and team compliance with Health and Safety, Security and Environment/Sustainable Development Policies, ensuring working practices minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers, staff and the environmentTo coordinate safety training through the engagement of key staff, at all levels and groups across the industry. To ensure quality assurance of the accepted maintenance scheme ensuring compliance against published company and local standardsTo comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this roleTo demonstrate to the customer organisation a professional and competent approach to the management of safety management system. This includes the investigation of all incidents and accidents and taking appropriate remedial action where standards have not been met or where improvements can be madeTo lead, motivate and inspire a safety culture across the entire Organisation, providing a clear vision in line with the overriding principles as an aspiring centre of excellence setting strategies and goals to deliver continuous improvementTo sustain the change in culture, providing the necessary leadership, support and encouragement to the team to enable them to act with increased confidence and levels of empowermentEnsure that professional advice on all matters relating to safety, compliance and quality assurance as well as environmental management, capacity issues and any other operational or technical matters is provided to internal and external customersConduct risk and hazard reviewsDemonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of statutory requirements defined in the Air Navigation Order and those regulatory requirements set by the CAA/EASA and local organisation. To ensure compliance against other external safety and environmental standardsEnsure that all accidents and incidents are reported in accordance with local policyConduct safety tours/inspections in line with agreed schedulesEnsure that all procedures and processes are maintained in line with local legislation, regulatory and corporate policiesEnsure that all internal and external audit findings are addressed within agreed timescalesMonitor and manage, where applicable, all 3rd party contractors and their activitiesQualificationsQualification Requirements:Educational Requirements:Post Graduate or Bachelor\u2019s degree qualification (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Engineering or other relevant discipline)Experience Requirements:Minimum 7 years’ experiencePrevious Job Experience:Extensive operational experience gained in a Safety specific role within an aviation environmentMotivating and leading teams in a Safety environmentExperience of design and implementation of Safety Management and Quality Assurance programmesDealing with Aviation Safety RegulatorsDeveloping Just CulturesDesign and implementation of SMS’sA sound understanding of the Air Navigation OrderCertification/Knowledge/Competencies:Safety Management ExperienceBe educated to Degree level (or equivalent)Qualified AuditorA recognised and relevant Safety Management System and or HSE qualificationSolving & Decision-making skillsKnowledge of modern aircraft equipmentKnowledge of aircraft maintenance and repair policy and procedureKnowledge of Safety Management Systems, Human Factors etcExcellent communication skillsFluent English SpeakerComputer LiterateKnowledgeable of data analysis and forecasting modelsDriving licence#J-18808-Ljbffr
