Job Description

Roles, Responsibilities and AuthoritiesResponsible for quality inspection upon discretion of the Quality Manager and General Manager.Coordinate with QC inspectors and arrange day‑to‑day inspection activities, including incoming inspection, in‑process inspection, CMM inspection, and final inspection of components.Monitor inspection timings and coordinate with QC inspectors to complete tasks on time.Allot and monitor work, provide guidance to inspectors wherever required.Accountable for complying with the daily delivery schedule.Ensure final QC documents are ready once the job is completed.Monitor quality and operations to ensure that they meet production standards.Coordinate with supervisors for correction and rectification of jobs.Report to the Quality Manager on quality performance and where improvement is needed.Review day‑to‑day activities and performance of quality inspectors.Monitor data recorded by the inspection team (start & end time, inspection stage, inspection scope, etc.).KPI to be assigned & monitored for QC inspectors.KPI for coating section to be filled for dye penetrant testing on a daily basis.Ensure that inspection and testing procedures have been correctly carried out and adequately documented.Review drawings provided by the customer; if in doubt coordinate with the sales team to resolve issues.Review customer specifications and ensure inspection is carried out in line with the specification.Store drawings and specifications in QC folders for easy access.Arrange inspection activities on Sundays and holidays.Provide CMM inspection training to QC inspectors, operators, and supervisors as per management recommendations.Provide Gas Rig test training to QC inspectors as per SOP and perform testing as per plan.Train QC inspectors on inspection methodology wherever required.Ensure measuring & testing equipment meets the known state of calibration as per QMS.Review master list of equipment weekly and arrange to collect instruments from different sections for calibration. Update actual status with remarks “Sent for calibration”.Coordinate with calibration agency and ensure all instruments are calibrated as per the master list schedule.Upon receiving instruments and certificates, verify the certificates, stamp & sign with verified stamp, and update the master list.Communicate with the respective department to procure instruments found rejected during calibration.Monitor and report all NC to the Quality Manager and General Manager.Report non‑conforming products with inspection report for further action/decision.Ensure quality non‑conformance is rectified & resolved. If non‑conforming products cannot be rectified, call a team with the quality manager & general manager. Ensure the route card is sufficient, detailed, and signed by the approving manager. In this case, QC will not be responsible for any customer complaints.Ensure inspected products are identified with GI number and Work Order numbers. Monitor traceability status on the products to ensure it is maintained throughout the process. Inform supervisors for immediate action if traceability is missing.Ensure only calibration instruments are used for inspection and traceability is maintained throughout the process.Ensure route cards are filled with appropriate details (date, name, dimensions, instruments used, etc.).Ensure previous operations are carried out and route cards are filled by respective personnel. If incomplete details, coordinate with supervisors for action and report to management.Carry out work in a safe manner. Use appropriate PPE & tools as required.Assign workload to QC inspectors and ensure inspection personnel complete their tasks within allotted time frame.
