QA Engineer - Immediate Start

We work at the intersection of policy, data, and technology, building products that don’t just inform decisions, but improve lives.If you’re motivated by impact and purpose - Whiteshield is for you.WHAT YOU’LL OWN• Develop, maintain, and execute test cases for functional, regression, integration, UAT, and automation testing.• Perform thorough manual and automation testing on web applications covering UI, functional, responsiveness, and end-to-end scenarios.• Contribute towards designing, implementing and maintaining automation scripts for regression and smoke testing using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).• Document test results, report bugs, and track them to closure using JIRA.• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and ensure optimal test coverage.• Contribute to test planning, estimation, and execution in alignment with Agile/Scrum workflows.• Participate in release validation, post-release testing, and continuous integration pipelines.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORCore Testing SkillsUnderstanding of SDLC & STLC (Software Development & Testing Life Cycle)Ability to design test cases & test scenariosStrong test execution discipline (follow steps, document results clearly)Knowledge of testing types:Functional testingRegression testingSmoke & sanity testingUAT (User Acceptance Testing)Ability to think in edge cases (break the system, not just follow happy paths)Analytical & Problem‑Solving SkillsStrong attention to detail (spot subtle UI or logic issues)Ability to reproduce bugs consistentlyRoot cause thinking (not just what broke, but why)Logical thinking to validate workflows and business rulesTest Design & DocumentationWriting clear, structured test casesCreating test plans and test strategiesUnderstanding of acceptance criteriaAbility to prioritize testing based on risk/impactTools & Technical AwarenessFamiliarity with tools like Jira / Azure DevOps (bug tracking)Basic knowledge of Browser dev tools (inspect, network calls), logs and how to read themCommunication SkillsWriting clear bug reports (steps, expected vs actual, screenshots)Ability to work with developers and PMsExplaining issues in a non‑technical and technical wayAsking good clarification questionsProduct & User MindsetThinking like an end userUnderstanding business requirementsAbility to validate user journeys, not just featuresSensitivity to UX issues (confusing flows, poor design)Process & CollaborationWorking in Agile/Scrum environmentsParticipating in: standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, managing test cycles and deadlinesMeaningful impactYour work helps shape products used at national scale - enabling people to access services, opportunities, and support that make a real difference in everyday lives.Creative freedomYou will have room to explore ideas, test approaches, and raise the bar for design quality - even in complex, regulated environments.
