Job Description A well-established engineering and manufacturing organization in the industrial machinery sector is looking for an experienced Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities and vendor coordination for production operations. The role requires strong technical understanding along with procurement expertise to ensure timely availability of materials required for manufacturing. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing reliable vendors for mechanical, machined, and fabricated components. The role involves obtaining quotations from suppliers, comparing pricing, and performing cost analysis to ensure competitive and cost-effective procurement decisions. The Purchase Engineer will negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules with vendors while maintaining long-term professional relationships. The position requires ensuring timely procurement of materials according to production schedules and maintaining smooth coordination with production, design, quality assurance, and stores departments. The candidate should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications in order to procure accurate components and materials. Responsibilities also include preparing purchase orders, tracking order deliveries, and resolving material-related issues with internal teams and suppliers. The role further involves monitoring supplier performance and ensuring vendor compliance with organizational procurement policies, technical standards, and quality requirements. Strong analytical ability, negotiation skills, and vendor relationship management are essential to succeed in this position. This role plays a critical part in maintaining uninterrupted production operations while optimizing procurement cost and ensuring quality material supply.
