Job DescriptionFrijns Middle East is recruiting for a Project Planning Engineer to join our growing team in Mesaieed, Qatar. This is a full-time office-based role with occasional site visits.The Project Planning Engineer develops, manages and optimises project schedules, resource plans, and operational strategies for all projects. This role involves collaborating with cross functional teams including project managers, design team, procurement, workshop supervisors and management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.ResponsibilitiesActs as Planning focal point for all running projects and tendersReview and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.Developing project strategies and execution plans for Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases in all disciplinesIssuing regular project Status Reports, including Cost and Schedule updates and forecastsSupport project manager with everyday running of the projectPerform Project Management activities, including create and supplement weekly and monthly project status reports, cashflow forecasts, schedule updates, yearly project budget updates, stakeholder alignment meetings and presentationsResponsible for cost control and forecasting to align appropriations with approved budgetFollow Work Method Statement development process, including Project Team review, incorporating comments and issue via Document ControlMonitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycleLiaise with engineering, procurement and fabrication functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.Analyse and issue copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirementsMonitor workshop and site execution progress with support from supervisorsAnalyse and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements.Review and analyse updates to project manpower requirementsAssess and communicate schedule impact of change notificationsMonitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance.Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as requiredLiaise with finance team to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgetsEnsure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedules.Participate in schedule risk analysis as requiredMust have a proven track record in handling construction projects in different phasesDevelop, manage, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and construction milestones.Monitor on-site progress against baseline schedules and work plans; analyse variances and recommend recovery strategies where delays are identified.Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement and production teams to gather input and validate schedule updates and forecasts.Lead the preparation of weekly and monthly project reports, including progress curves, look-ahead schedules, and delay analysis.Implement and maintain planning procedures and reporting standards, ensuring schedule control is in full compliance with project governance.Support claims and change management processes by providing schedule impact assessments and time extension justifications.Engage with clients and key stakeholders during progress meetings and site walkthroughs to provide clear updates and projections.Identify planning-related risks and opportunities early and work collaboratively to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.Skills and QualificationsUniversity degree preferably in EngineeringMinimum of 8+ years relevant experienceStrong work ethics, be able to work under pressure and with different prioritiesGood understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilitiesExtensive expertise in planning and scheduling, progress measurement, and earned value management across industrial projects.Advanced proficiency in project control tools and software, including Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, Excel-based cost control systems.Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills for coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and executive management.Fabrication / construction experience is advantageousInterested ?Send us your cv at recruitment@frijnsqatar.com , please note only the shortlisted candidates will be contacted.#J-18808-Ljbffr
