Job Description You will be responsible for deeply understanding the retail and AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) segments, track and trace technology, and market trends. Your role will involve decoding customer preferences, identifying unmet needs in the market, and shaping the future product roadmap of TVS Electronics. Your focus will be on ensuring innovation-led, next-generation solutions that are ahead of the competition and relevant to Indian market dynamics.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct deep-dive analysis of the Retail, BFSI, Logistics, and AIDC segments to spot trends, competitor activity, innovation patterns, and global movements.
- Build detailed category playbooks and benchmarks highlighting gaps, opportunities, and buyer behavior.
- Identify fast-growing or under-served micro-segments within broader industries.
- Lead regular consumer mood and retail sentiment studies using primary and secondary research.
- Conduct VOC (Voice of Customer) programs and build a deep understanding of decision-makers, their pain points, and emerging needs in POS, scanning, and tracking hardware.
- Translate insights into new product opportunities, feature recommendations, and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with Product Development to develop the next-gen hardware roadmap including POS systems, RFID solutions, and track-and-trace innovations.
- Track leading global and Chinese competitors in terms of products, specs, pricing, go-to-market strategies, and innovation cycles.
- Act as the category captain for cross-functional alignment with Product, R&D, Sales, and Marketing teams.
**Key Skills & Qualifications:**
- 5-10 years of experience in Category Management, Product Marketing, Market Intelligence, or Tech Strategy, preferably in Retail Tech, POS, AIDC, or FMCG/Retail sectors.
- Strong understanding of hardware technology trends, especially in POS systems, barcode scanners, RFID, IoT.
- Excellent at data analysis, consumer insight generation, and storytelling with insights.
- Ability to bridge technical and commercial teams, translating insights into action.
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving tech environment.
- Engineer and MBA.
You will be measured on:
- Number of insight-led new product concepts launched
- Share of new product ideas sourced independently of sales inputs
- Market/segment deep-dives delivered annually
- Competitive benchmarking accuracy and usefulness
