Principal Structural Geologist

OverviewPrincipal Structural Geologist to collaborate with the technical team to achieve exploration excellence. Responsible for maintaining and developing methodologies and SOPs from core orientation quality control to detailed structural analysis. Ensure continued team development (geological understanding: mineralogy, structure, etc., as well as training in modern exploration methods).ResponsibilitiesThe Principal Structural Geologist is expected to solve geological problems through the interpretation of structural data to understand geological history and processes.Conduct structural analysis to determine controls on mineralization and model structures, lithologies, and complex ore bodies in 3D to be used in mineral estimation.Interpret structures from regional geophysical datasets (mag, gravity, IP, etc.).Work through all Maaden exploration camps and assist/mentor all geologists in the field.Broad exploration in many different terrains (at least 2) and significant knowledge of at least 3 commodities, understanding a further 2 or international recognition in single commodity or exploration process with proven expertise in geological mapping, data interpretation, and modeling.Multicontinent experience.Sound commercial skills.Resource estimation or feasibility study experience.Commercializes technical expertise.Wide experience and knowledge of applied exploration techniques.Presents practical solutions.Recognizes problem areas and areas for improvement; recommends specific actions.Generates geological ore body models proved by discoveries of likely ore.Articulates a program vision.Good judgment valued by others.Discovery history.Strong pattern recognition.Able to shift commodity focus within short time frame.Predicts the unknown based on the familiar.Readily recognizes what in nature is not possible.Applying historical experiences to longer range planning.Deals with complexity.Qualifications & ExperienceGood leadership skills; develops others; multi-cultural experience.Strong communication skills.A passion for discovery and a desire to spend time in the field.An ability to self-motivate, prioritize activities, and work collaboratively.Passion and enthusiasm for science, geology and problem solving challenges.Earned authority.Maturity.Strong internal and external networks.Skilled operations or technical leader.Media and external presentations.Managed teams in at least one foreign culture.Shares geological knowledge.#J-18808-Ljbffr
