This is a key role within the Wood Doha office delivering across study, FEED, EPC and PMC scopes of work. All suitably qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment on the basis of objective criteria and without regard to the following (which is a non-exhaustive list): race, colour, age, religion, gender, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, or other characteristics in accordance with the relevant governing laws.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost and the project schedule targets.Lead and guide a team of Structural engineers and designers to generate FEED and detailed engineering design basis, specifications, drawings, conduct engineering analysis and associated calculations and recommend technical solutions for Topsides, Jacket for greenfield and brownfield modification projects.Act as Lead Engineer in project execution, taking ownership of specific tasks within the project.QA/QC, the structural team engineering deliverables for correctness and quality, marks-up any comments or revision of these documents and ensures that the changes are included and completed on the latest copies of all affected documents.Able to check, correct design reports, drawings developed by the team delivered as per the project requirementConduct technical review of the project to ensure compliance with client's specifications as well as resolving project technical queriesEnsures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.Familiar with International and client Codes, standards of offshore structures.Assist the Discipline Manager in the day-to-day work performance and perform duty as Lead Structural Engineer as and when requiredOverall supervision as well as on the job training of the engineers under him or her during project execution or as advised by the Discipline ManagerMotivate the structural teams' personnel and encourage the functions involvement in a project to maximize the productivity and morale of the project.Builds positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors.Supports proposals by developing the discipline execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers.Supports the business by communicating team resource loading and skill requirements to Discipline Manager.Undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competency, as required by the Discipline Manager from time to time.Demonstrate appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing these appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues to Discipline Manager.Supports management of project change and progress for the discipline and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progress, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.Implements innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.Ensure Wood and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated workRemain up to date with the latest technical developments in your fields of expertiseEnsure the delivery of challenging project and client targets using sound technical knowledge and decision-making skillsSeek and support opportunities for department and project improvement and contribute to developing s
